Probably 98% of the world’s population want peace. Probably 98% feel powerless in the face of the 2% who can’t find any place in their hearts for compromise. Our screens are filled with images of suffering children and their distraught families, bereaved folk who look utterly lost and in despair. There are at least 25 major conflicts going on in today’s world, yet the 2% continue to pursue their own agendas at the expense of the 98%, and thousands of innocents die needlessly in their wake. Many thousands more have their lives shattered.

Dust never settles
Dust never clears
Where people are herded
Through portals of fear
Broken, displaced
But no place for their dreams
No haven of safety
No room at the inn.

How many hearts must be crushed into pieces?
How many smiles must be turned?
How many times must the government leeches
Be permitted to fail ‘til they finally learn?

They say it’s for peace
They say it’s to end this
They lie and they cheat
Their way through their agendas
They talk of a future
But all they’ve achieved is….
